Indiana Math & Science Academy is authorized by Office of Education Innovation, a charter school authorizer responsible for evaluating and supporting the academics, finances, and operations of mayor-sponsored public charter schools that educate about 18,000 students across the city.

Charter authorizers are the entities that decide who can start a new charter school They set academic and operational expectations, oversee school performance, and evaluate whether a charter should remain open or close at the end of its contract.
