Two of our teachers, Sabrina Aldridge and Jessica Tomasino were invited to the 2016 PATINS State Conference to speak on behalf of the AEMing for Achievement Grant team and other staff at the Indiana Math & Science Academy North. The conference was held downtown Indianapolis at the Historic Crowne Plaza. They joined nationally known, Dr. Joy Zabala- Director of Technical Assistance for CAST and National AEM Center on a panel to share how they are successfully implementing accessible educational materials for students who can benefit from reading accommodations with the use of assistive technology. IMSA was one of the only 8 schools in Indiana to be selected for the grant through the PATINS Project.
The PATINS Project is a state-wide technical assistance network that connects local education agencies (LEAs) to Accessible Materials, Assistive Technology, and corresponding professional development and technical support through the Indiana Dept. of Education and Dept. of Administration. PATINS helps to ensure that ALL students can access, participate, and progress within their general curriculum.
