Design, write and use lesson plans; teach computer science classes to middle and secondary school students; implement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students; prepare students for computer science related competitions and standardized tests; coordinate school technology fairs and/or extracurricular activities as assigned; employ technology practices to strengthen the instructional process; help students assess and enhance their study methods and habits; administer formal and informal testing to evaluate student success; prepare classroom to enhance learning and to aid in physical, social and emotional development of students; control student behavior in agreement with the student handbook; ensure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities; provide input on book, equipment and material selection; establish communication rapport with parents, students, principal, and teachers through meetings and conferences; gather, manage and maintain all reports, records and other documents required; be active in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and assist in staff committees as necessary


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Education, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering plus 24 months progressive fulltime experience in the job at K12 school environment including writing lesson plans, coordinating tech fairs and/or extracurricular activities; Indiana State teaching license (at least teacher permit) in Computer required; M-F, 40 hrs/wk; Send resume (by mail only) to Onder Sechen, Indiana Math and Science Academy North Indianapolis, 7435 N Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
